Hand Tools

Re: Using Hand Tools - Spanners and Sockets

Great article, but unfortunately all things I already learnt the hard way or from a very patient mate, a worthy addition to that article might be how to avoid cross-threading by hand tightening the first few turns before getting stuck in with the tools (another hard learnt lesson).

P.S. The aforementioned mate also taught me the direction rule via the mantra "Righty tighty, Lefty loosey". :)

Torque Split Controller

Just a query regarding the torque split controller in Godzilla Tamed. Would there have been anything wrong with using a pair of potentiometers for that job? One would be across the sensor voltage supply circuit and earth, with a 2.5V output. The other would be between this 2.5V and the sensor output, with the output being between the true sensor output and 2.5V. Would that have worked? Anyway, enough with my ramblings, keep up the good work.

Yes we think it would work..

Reading Brakes

So you've done a piece on how to read spark plugs.  How about a series on brakes and brake pad diagnosis? Brake testing, tunning and modification?  It's cheaper to make a car go faster with better brakes, than it is to add engine horsepower.

Tyre Grip

Just read the article "Tyres, Grip and all that" and felt compelled to drop you a note. What a truly fantastic article! Keep up the great work.
