I found this article at autospeed.com and thought you might be interested in reading it: 'Aero Flow Switch!' - A brilliant airflow-triggered switch. An airflow-triggered switch? What's the good of that? OK, let's say that you have a turbo car running a fairly small underbonnet intercooler. When there's insufficient airflow coming in from the bonnet scoop, you need to turn on an electric fan mounted on the intercooler. That way, you can be guaranteed that the intercooler core will always stay cool, even when you're stopped at traffic lights. And how do you activate the fan? What about by measuring the actual airflow passing the car?! You can read the article at: http://www.autospeed.com/A_1043/cms/article.html
