Puffed up Parker
Commodore specialist Parker Performance, located on Queenland's Gold Coast, has available a variety of tuff late-model Commodore bits and pieces. A bolt-on kit that allows the fitting of 330mm slotted front rotors and 4 pot Ferrari F40/Brembo calipers is one eye-catcher. The required new hubs still work with standard bearings, making it a no-sweat upgrade.
LS1 Chev goodies from Parker Performance include this specially made airflow meter, which has been flow tested to around 1100 cfm (by machining, polishing and removing half of the internal air foils). Its cost is $980 changeover.
Glen Parker also recommends this cooler thermostat to hold the engine at best operating temperature for max hp. It costs $120 outright.

Accent Body Kit
Hyundai's new Accent small car now has a full body kit accessory available, fabricated from pliable ABS polycarbonate alloy (whatever that is!) and carrying Hyundai's 5-year 30,000km warranty. Ugly isn't it?

How to Clean Your Windows
Courtesy of http://www.autodetail.com Ever wonder how some people have streak-free windows? Do you think it takes them forever to get their windows clean? Well, it doesn't take any more time - you just need a few pointers. To start with, you need window cleaner (whether it be aerosol glass cleaner or liquid) and a few (preferably two) window towels. Clean one window at a time. Begin by rolling down your windows half way. Spray glass cleaner on the window and clean the top edge of the window. Roll the window back up. Be liberal with the glass cleaner. You do not want the cleaner to dry on the window. You want to use one towel to clean and the other towel to completely dry the window. Do this on the inside and outside of the glass. Try to always use a side to side cleaning motion. When cleaning the inside of the windscreen and rear window, spray cleaner liberally, and use one towel to clean. Use the other towel to completely dry while using a side-to-side hand motion. Now you should have clean windows. Enjoy. Windows are time consuming to clean, so try to keep the doggie off the windows along with fingers. Enjoy having a clean car.

No.34 in a series of 52 interesting facts about Ford Australia to celebrate its 75th Anniversary Year...
When the new Fairlane rolled off the assembly lines at Ford in 1967 it created two major milestones in Australian motoring history. The Fairlane was the first long wheelbase Australian-designed and built luxury car, and it was the first one to use aluminium for the grille and side mouldings. Prior to the Fairlane, cars used heavy steel pressings which were then chromed.
In 1979, Ford again revolutionised the local car industry by putting plastic bumper bars on its new XD Falcon. It was also the first mass-produced car in the world to have a plastic fuel tank which was virtually indestructible.
C-class Sports Coupé
Mercedes-Benz has released the first factory photographs of its all-new C-class Sports Coupé.
Already hailed in Europe as "the most sophisticated compact sedan ever to hit the road", the new C-class will be joined later next year in Australia by the stunning new sister model - the C-class Sports Coupé. The 120 kW 2.0-litre mechanically supercharged engine and the four-cylinder engine from the C180 (95 kW) form the basis of the CL engine range which also includes the 230 Kompressor and diesel.
A further new development to make its debut in the C-class sports coupé will be the optionally available automated six-speed gearbox, Sequentronic. The dynamic driving experience is enhanced still further by its fast, agile and precise gear changes, whilst fuel consumption is actually reduced. A light tap on the shift lever is all that is needed for the system to declutch, change gear and engage the clutch again. In automatic mode, the Sequentronic system changes gear (on its own) according to the particular driving situation.
Technical innovations that will also find their way into the sports coupé include everything from the windowbag to the Electronic Stability Program ESP, from the adaptive driver and passenger side airbags to the headlamp distance regulator. The Comand control and display system with dynamic route guidance, the voice-activated Linguatronic system for the telephone and car radio, the automatic climate control system will be options.
Australian specifications and prices are yet to be finalised.
