Welcome to the first issue of AutoSpeed.

Here you'll find a range of exciting modified feature cars, hands-on tech and good quality general automotive reading. We've started the ball rolling this week with 20 full feature articles - more than 80 pages of pics and information! And each and every week, we'll be adding another six articles to the site.

You can keep up with the arrival of the new features by becoming a member. It doesn't cost a thing! You'll receive our weekly newsletter, be able to enter competitions, and be eligible for special offers from our advertisers.

All the information on the AutoSpeed site is free to you. You can access the site as often as you like, print out sections if you wish, pass the URL on to your friends. Of course, we'd also like it if you checked out pretty closely what our advertisers are saying!

We'll be carrying out product tests and comparisons, giving you the latest performance news (months ahead of the paper magazines!), and running provocative and interesting columns. And if you're not really into making modifications - you just love cars - we've got plenty of features planned for you, too. Check out the pics in truck racing in this issue for a start!

Our tech-heads have got a bit of a bent towards EFI, turbos and blowers - but that doesn't mean that we won't also be running some big-cube V8 carby grunt. In fact, we've got a dyno story coming up on a 350 Chev that cranks out a whopping 530hp through its iron heads!

We're based in Australia but our eyes are worldwide - if you've got a car that you'd love to see in our Readers' Cars section, send us some photos (including one of the engine) and a description of what you've done to the machine. And that applies whether you live in Sydney, Australia or Detroit, USA! We love carrying news of the latest performance products, so if you're a manufacturer or retailer drop us a line.

Want to exchange ideas with like-minded enthusiasts? Go to our Forums and get some tech advice, give someone your point of view, or just read what others think.

So enjoy this issue - and remember, feedback is always welcome.
